Im Rahmen des Langen Tags der Flucht lädt das 21er Haus zu einer kostenlosen Führung in der Ausstellung AI WEIWEI translocation – transformation.

Die Führung wird in Farsi übersetzt. The tour will be translated into Farsi.

Im Rahmen einer umfassenden Tour besichtigen wir neben anderen Werken die originale Ahnenhalle einer Teehändlerfamilie aus der Ming-Dynastie (1368-1644) im 21er Haus sowie die Arbeit F Lotus aus 1005 Rettungswesten im Teich des Oberen Belvedere.

Ai Weiwei (* 1957) übt als Konzeptkünstler, Dokumentarist und Aktivist nicht nur Kritik am Regime seiner Heimat China, sondern reagiert mit seinem Schaffen auch auf die aktuelle politische Realität, etwa auf das Flüchtlingsthema in Europa.

Vertreibung, Migration und gewollter Ortswechsel lösen Veränderungsprozesse in Menschen und an Objekten aus. Dieses Thema der Transformation zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch Leben und Werk des Künstlers und steht im Zentrum der aktuellen Ausstellung in Wien.

Die Führung wird von Sharifa Taheri in Farsi übersetzt.


As part of this year’s “Langer Tag der Flucht”, 21er Haus offers a free tour through the exhibition AI WEIWEI translocation – transformation.

As part of the comprehensive tour, we will, amongst others, see works such as the original ancestral hall of a tea merchant family of the Ming-Dynasty (1368-1644) or the work “F Lotus” made of 1005 life jackets in the pond of “Oberes Belevedere”.

Being a conceptual artist, documentarian and activist, Ai Weiwei (*1957) does not only criticise the regime of his home country China, but his art also reacts to the current political situation, especially to the topic of refugees, in Europe.

Forced displacement and voluntary migration trigger changes in human beings as well as in objects. The topic of transformation runs like a thread through the life and works of Ai Weiwei and is the focus of the current exhibition in Vienna.
