This guided tour in English through the Wien Museum’s permanent exhibition provides insights into Vienna’s history, from its earliest settlements to the present day. The tour traces key developments that have shaped the city over time, including political changes, social transformation, and everyday life.
A particular focus is placed on the role of forced displacement and migration: Who came to Vienna throughout the centuries – voluntarily or involuntarily? What influence did they have on the city’s development? And what do the objects in the exhibition reveal about movement, identity, and living together in a growing and evolving city?
The tour encourages reflection on the links between past and present, and on how forced displacement migration has long been part of urban life in Vienna.
The tour and admission to the Wien Museum’s permanent exhibition are free of charge as part of the "Langer Tag der Flucht" initiative. Please reserve your spot via this website – places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you are unable to attend, we kindly ask you to cancel your booking via email at info@langertagderflucht.at so that your spot can be made available to others.
